Breakdown

01. The Legend of Perseus – Mixed Reality/CG Play – Senior Thesis (2008)

Description & Responsibilities: For The Legend of Perseus, I was required to model, texture, rig, and animate the main CG character, Medusa (original concept done by Brittany Fedor). The Medusa rig features a joint-based facial animation setup with three levels of control per joint, symmetry and asymmetry control, and a unique dynamic/IK hair setup that allows her snake hair's animation to be switched from fully dynamic hair sim control to IK control. In addition to creating and animating Medusa, I also did lighting for all of the environments.

Software: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects

02. The Bower Family – Characters and Environment (2007)

Description & Responsibilities: I created these characters and their Victorian-era living room, including all models, textures, and basic character rigs for posing. All textures and maps (diffuse, specular, displacement on the characters and diffuse and bump on props) seen in this still are painted in Photoshop, without photo sourcing.

Software: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop

03. Bizarre Animation Test – Character Animation tests (2010)

Description & Responsibilities: Tasked with animating a pre-built Motionbuilder character's interaction with two boxes in different ways, I created these three short animations in accordance with Bizarre Creations Studios' animation test. In each clip, the character was required to interact differently: in the first, he must interact with both; in the second, with a lightweight box; and in the third with a heavy box.

Software: Autodesk Motionbuilder

04. The Nightmare Experiment – 3D Animated Short (2007)

Description & Responsibilities: Created in partnership with Zach Brooks, The Nightmare Experiment is an abstract short depicting a drug-induced nightmare on a rabbit-like creature. I created the environment for the nightmare landscape, modeled and rigged the main character "Fluffy," and also did all of the animation in the nightmare realm.

Software: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop

05. Sketches & Life Drawing – Figure & Anatomy Studies (2006-2010)

Description & Responsibilities: These drawings and illustration are from various anatomy studies. The first two are from a life-drawing course taken in 2006; the last two are from photo references and created in 2010.
